Homeless Youth

Sheridan House Family Ministries committed to offering community services which give vulnerable children and families the opportunity to reach their full, God-given potential. They accomplish this through a variety of classes and programs for single moms, counseling and residential programs for middle school youth. We will support their annual fundraising event school supply drive in July and toy drive at Christmas and explore additional hands on projects as feasible.

Homeless Young Adults

Covenant House meets the needs of our community’s youth in crisis by providing shelter, food, health services, educational and occupational training and other services designed to support youth in need to regain their independence. We will support the annual sleepout fundraiser and explore ways we can support young people transitioning to independence in their own homes.

Building Homes for the Homeless

Habitat for Humanity of Broward organizes supplies and volunteer workers to build quality homes for low- income families and encourages those families to help build homes for others in need. In conjunction with the Rosemary Duffy Larson Trust, we will be sponsoring a complete home build in the Rick and Rita Case habitat community in Pompano as well as supporting other scheduled work days to build homes throughout Broward.

Fort Everglades Seafarers

Seafarers is a multi faith ministry in Port Everglades caring for mariners from around the world who are in our port. They offer counseling, port services and a ministry of welcome that declares and demonstrates the love of God.

We will be supporting the Shoe Box Christmas program that provides needed and welcome items for Seafarers away from their homes and families. We have launched and will expand on “adopt a ship” initiative.

NATIK means “We plant Hope” in the native Maya language and is representative of the work being done in Chiapas Mexico and in Guatemala. NATIK seeks to improve educational and economic conditions in the communities they serve.

We hold an annual fundraiser, Cinco de Mayo, to support this important work.

Feeding the Homeless

A church in the heart of a needy neighborhood affords an opportunity for us to get involved directly with homeless and needy members of the community. We will support monthly Saturday morning feedings. We also collect needed items to donate throughout the year.

Hope South Florida - Provides counseling and support services for homeless families and veterans. We will be investing our time on multiple projects to bless these families. We will be collecting eye glasses and cases as well as other needed supplies such as needs for babies and children.

This team responds to disasters that occur both locally and world wide. Working collaboratively with larger disaster relief entities, the team organizes the churches response to all types of natural disasters.

Miami Rescue Mission (Broward) - Ministering to needy, homeless men and women with an evangelical Christian message while offering physical and social services. We will be providing meals as well as considering hands on projects as conditions permit.

LifeNet4Families - A full service facility and cooperative feeding program providing clothing, showers, mail, case management, and a variety of practical services to help homeless families achieve independence. We provide food during our Thanksgiving food drive and are exploring other ways that we can get involved to bless these families.
